Sorento's 1777 Ala Moana Blvd , Honolulu, HI Phone - (808) 955-5559 0 Miles Restaurant Type: Italian restaurant
Sorento's Review: We always save our last night for a dinner at Sorento's. Try to reserve the tables that face the sunset. Always excellent! The steaks are to die for! (10 out of 10)
Next Review: November 2009
Sorento's Review: We had a table for on Friday the 13th. Q was our server. So, unfortunately we had a BBQ on the beach earlier and the 1 lb burgers were still with us. We decided to just have salads and appetizers. The calamari, mussels, pancheta shrimp, and crab cakes were exquisite. They were presented in the usual Sorento's exception fashion. After each change of plates they scraped any crumbs up to assure no distractions as we drank wine and enjoyed the view of Diamond Head. Yes, another (10 of 10) for Sorento's.

Harbor Pub & Pizza Inc 1765 Ala Moana Blvd , Honolulu, HI Phone - (808) 941-0985 0.02 miles Restaurant Type: Pizza restaurants
Harbor Pub Review: The Harbor Pub is our main stay when staying at the Ilikai. We always enjoy the Eggs Benedict on Sundays, drink specials in the afternoon, and of course the great pizza! Buy a large and have a to go box to take it back to room #2120 at the Ilikai! Be sure to get Jane as your waitress (7 out of 10)
November 2009 Review: We were a little about the Harbor Pub after reading a a negative review a few weeks ago. Not sure what they were talking about. We were waited on by Martin (from Malmo). The pizza was excellent with fresh basil. The Sam Adams beer cold and refreshing. Still love this place! (7.5 out of 10)
Harbor Pub Update: We had breakfast on Nov 14th and it was excellent. I had eggs benedict and while Jane delivered them she said "here's your eggs benedict. The chef cooked them perfecctly". She was right! I have to say Jane is the best waitress I have ever had. She always makes things right in a very interesting way. (8 of 10)
Another Update on Harbor Pub: We recently visited and were pleasantly surprised that Jane was back from Maui. Two of us had the Farmers Omelet which was outstanding. Again, can't beat the Harbor Pub for reasonably priced food and of course Jane's great service. Adrian also did a great job keeping the pitchers full later in the night.

Chart House Honolulu 1755 Ala Moana Blvd, Honolulu, HI Phone - (808) 941-6660 0.02 miles
Chart House Honolulu Review: We have never had much luck at the Chart House. The food is expensive and the service unimpressive. The positive, they do however have music almost every night and it is fun to have a beer and listen to local music. (5 out of 10)
-------------------------------
Outback Steakhouse 1765 Ala Moana Blvd , Honolulu, HI Phone - (808) 951-6274 0.02 miles Restaurant Type: Steak and barbecue restaurants
Outback Steakhouse Review: We always enjoy the Outback. It is a chain and they do reproduce meals very well. Salads are pretty expensive for what you get. No local faire. (6 out of 10)

Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar 1778 Ala Moana Blvd, Honolulu, HI Phone (808) 983-3933ý 0.03 miles Restaurant Type: Pub Food
Buffalo Wild Wings Grill Review: This restaurant is right across the street from then Ilikai on Ala Moana. They have nightly specials and have a wide range of pub food. There is limited outside seating with an outside bar. We have been there a number of times with meals from burgers to chicken wings. The food is consistant, flavorful, with no suprises. (6 out of 10)
Next Review: November 2009
Buffalo Wild Wings Grill Review: This review was from Howard from Chicago. He has been coming to the Ilikai since 1968. We decided not to return after while discussing Buffalo Wild Wings with him at the Ilikai pool. He said they would never go back. Sauces were just ok and the wings small. apparently his wife is the wing expert and she actually left uneaten wings which she would normally take home to the condo. (3 of 10)

Da Smoke House Review: This is definitely a locals hang out. The food is consistant and they have daily specials. On Sundays they have a dinner special that is at the whim of the Chef. You never know what its going to be. Be adventurous! Try it out! You might get hooked (6 out of 10)

Ruby Tuesday Review: So, we have this chain on the mainland.... But, considering some nof then choices at the Ala Moana Food Court, Ruby Tuesday was a welcomed diversion. My bacon cheeseburger was cooked perfect with a mountain of fries. The beer was ice cold. No complaints here! Ok.. back to shopping! (8 of 10)

L&L Drive-Inn 710 Keeaumoku St Honolulu, HI 96814-3014 Phone - (808) 951-9888 0.25 miles
L&L Review: So, this is a chain plate lunch place in Hawaii. Styrofoam container, rice, meat, vegetables. This location happends to be in the Walmart near Ala Moana. So, there is a lot of competition in the plate lunch business in Hawaii. I have better and worse. If you have not eaten lunch yet and you have to shop at Walmart, you can't go wrong here. Good ethnic food for a realtively low price. Try it you might like it. (6 of 10)

Benihana in the Hilton Hawaiian Village 2005 Kalia Rd Honolulu, HI (808) 955-5955ý .4 mles Restaurant Type: Japanese restaurant
Benihana Review: OK, most of us have been to Benihana's or a close facimile of. This place is always fun and the food fresh right of the grill. we had the Teriyaki Steak as well as some delicious mushrooms. In my opinion it is expensive considering the location. If you like Hibachi cooking go for it. For the price I think the Top of the I (Sorento's) is a better value. (8 of 10)

Sergio's Italian Table Restaurant in the Hilton Hawaiian Village 2005 Kalia Rd. Honolulu, Hawaii 96815 .4 miles Phone: 808.951.6900 Restaurant Type: Italian Fine Dining
Sergio's Italian TableRestaurant Review: It is with great regret that I can no longer reccomend Sergio's. I have been going there for almost 16 years (even before their move to the Hilton Hawaiian). In the early days, when making a reservation you would arrive to a table with a real fancy box of matches with your last name imprinted on it...Those days are long gone. Our last three meals have been of poor quality, the service awful. I guess all they have left is a real nice wine selection. Sorry to see you go Sergio's! (4 out of 10)
-------------------------------- Kevin's BBQ at Fort Derussy Park .6 miles Phone: No Phone
Kevin's BBQ Review: OK, there is no such place. My Cousin Kevin grilled up linguisa and Rib eyes right on the beach at Fort Derussy Park. Was it his wife Joan's marinade? Was it the 30 years of BBQ experience? I don't know but as we were chomping through these perfectly cooked steaks I could not remember a better meal. We ate at Lahaina's Ruth Chris Steak House and In have to say, have one of Kevin's and then you decide! (10 of 10)
PS- If you are visitng Waikiki, stop at the foodland, pick up some briquets and protein aand try it out. It's free!

Shorebird 2169 Kalia Road Waikiki, Oahu, Hawaii 96815 .8 miles Phone: 808-922-2887
Restaurant Type: Steak and Seafood
ShorebirdRestaurant Review: I have had dinner here three times and three times is not a charm! The place is always packed with tourists who are often suprised you have to cook your own dinner.... No, I am not kidding. Plus, the salad bar, though it has potential usually is not restocked. Many of the staff are rude...I guess from dealing with tourists all day? Who Knows. I think it is worth a stop for a drink and you can decide if it is worth the risk. They do have a great view. (2 out of 10)
--------------------------------- Legends Sports Pub 411 Nahua St Honolulu, HI 96815 (808) 922-7486
Legends Sports Pub Review: OK. They do no food here. It is beer, drinks, and sports. That is it. John the owner says "just go next door and bring the food in here!". So Hawaii!. Anyway, Mai Tai's are cheap ($2.50) and they will open early if you need to catch a east coast football game. I told John a story about Mai Tai's and how we were busted by the wives 5 years ago... He roared and bought us a round of drinks. How can you notn like this place! (9 of 10)

Other Locations:
La Mariana Sailing Club 50 Sand Island Access Rd Honolulu, HI96819 Phone: (808) 848-2800
Restaurant Type: Tiki Bar and Restaurant
La MarianaRestaurant Review: OK, this is the hidden jewel of Oahu. A old fashioned Tiki Bar! They have 40 years of history on the walls, piano music, and of course an old fashioned menu. We had either a pasta dish, or shrimp scampi. Have I had better, probably. It is the atmosphere that makes this place rock. Quirky things like parking up front for employees, customers have to walk from street parking. Too funny! We absolutely love this place! (8 out of 10)

Zippies Restaurant (Restaurants all over Oahu)
Restaurant Type: Glorified Denny's
Zippies Restaurant Review: We needed a break from shopping and stopped at a Zippies. My expectations were not very high but once inside all that changed. Right up front there was a bakery with all local baked breads, muffins, and also a wide selection of pies and desserts. I had a linguisa omelet which was perfectly done. The service was exceptional and the Seattle's Best coffee cup never got empty. The real neat thing is the way they catered to the locals. Rice dishes, Portuguese sausage, and of course they handled the tourists tastes as well (8 of 10)
Tasty Crust Review: Yes, I forcced everyone to the Tasty Crust on our Nov 2009 visit to Maui. I have been stoppinh here since the 80's. I have only had breakfast here but they serve lunch and dinner also. Why do I keep coming back? It is a local place. And they serve local food. My cousin and I had a pancake, 2 eggs over easy, portuguesesausage, and toast. No suprises. Perfectly cooked. I love lookingb around the restarant and seeing all the locals starting there day. Have to love it. (7 of 10)

Ruth's Chris Steak House 900 Front St Lahaina, HI96761 Phone: (808) 661-8815
Category: Steakhouse
Ruth's Chris Steak House Review: If you have not gone to a RCSH you should. The great thing about the Lahaina version is that you can show up in shorts and a Hawaiian shirt and they welcome you with open arms. Not stuffy like the mainland version. We all had rib eyes and they were all wonderful. we split side dishes and left with the feeling we had ate too much. Ruth Chris has the process down (10 of 10)
